Olympus Foods to invest 7.5 million euros in a new production hall at the Brașov dairy plant

    Published on

Olympus Foods Romania, one of the largest dairy producers in the region and the leading collector of milk from Romanian farmers, has launched the construction of a new 7,100-square-meter production hall within the Brașov Dairy Plant. The 7.5 million euros investment aims to expand the plant’s production and storage capacities.

The announcement comes just over a year after the inauguration of the company’s 40 million euros logistics center, a 13,500-square-meter project featuring a high-bay refrigerated warehouse capable of storing more than 32,000 pallets of products.

“This new investment further supports the sustainable development of the Brașov Dairy Plant, significantly increasing our production and supply capabilities for Olympus dairy products. It is a natural step forward, driven by the rising demand for quality food as the Olympus brand continues to expand across more European markets. For us, this investment is a validation of the quality we have delivered to Romanian consumers for over 25 years and of the strong relationships we’ve built with both local and international partners,” said Dimitrios Kelas, General Manager of Olympus Foods Romania.

“The expansion of the production and storage capacities at the Brașov Dairy Plant has entered an accelerated phase, leading to investments totaling €70.7 million over the past five years. Proof of this is that less than two years after the new logistics center became operational, we are already starting construction on a new hall that will host new production lines and storage areas. What I want to emphasize is that this investment, like all previous ones, is a direct response to organic growth in demand and is aligned with the milk volumes supplied by our partners — more than 1,200 farmers from across Romania,” stated Adrian Cornea, Plant Manager of the Brașov Dairy Plant.

The Hellenic Dairies Group, of which Olympus is part, has been active in Romania for more than 25 years, consistently investing in the local market. The Olympus dairy plant in Hălchiu, Brașov County, was inaugurated in 2011, and its production serves both domestic and export markets.
