Cargus expands the SHIP & GO network to nearly 450 Carrefour stores nationwide

    Published on

Cargus is expanding its national out-of-home pick-up and drop-off network through a new strategic partnership with Carrefour Romania, one of the country’s largest retailers. Over 150 Carrefour stores – hypermarkets, supermarkets and Express formats – will become Cargus SHIP & GO points by the end of the year, with a further 250–300 locations to be activated in 2026. In total, the Carrefour – Cargus network will reach almost 450 points.

The network expansion is part of Cargus’ strategy to accelerate out-of-home services, one of the company’s main growth pillars for the coming years. Partnerships with nationwide retail chains help Cargus build a modern logistics model based on proximity, efficient routing and easy access to collection points. The strategy is also validated by customer behaviour: in 2025, the volume of parcels processed through SHIP & GO increased by around 20% compared to 2024.

”The partnership with Carrefour brings the SHIP & GO network exactly where people need it most: in the places they visit every day. We want parcel collection or dispatch to become a simple gesture, naturally integrated into one’s daily routine – done while shopping or on the way home, without any wasted time. We are at the height of the shopping season, which will continue until the end of January, and flexibility matters enormously for customers. A wide network available where they already are becomes a real advantage. For us, it is essential that the delivery experience is as intuitive, fast and user-friendly as possible, and this partnership offers customers precisely the accessibility and convenience they are looking for”, says Anda Bucșan, Chief Customer Officer at Cargus.

”We want to be as close as possible to our customers, and this means both quality products and a diverse range of services. The partnership with Cargus brings a new benefit to our stores – the possibility to collect or send parcels directly from our locations. It is another step in strengthening the Carrefour services ecosystem and supporting the growing need for proximity and speed. In this way, we help improve our customers’ shopping experience and create a space where they can quickly find everything they need, close to home”, notes Paul Batog, Retail Media, Data Science & Services Director at Carrefour Romania.

The partnership between Cargus and Carrefour marks another step in the expansion of the out-of-home network, which has already surpassed 2,000 points nationwide, and contributes to the development of a modern logistics model built on proximity, reduced access time and simple consumer experiences. It is the company’s second major retail partnership, following the collaboration with Agroland launched this autumn.
