Radu Constantin, Hidroelectrica: “We will certainly surpass the threshold of one million household customers in the company’s portfolio”

Hidroelectrica is approaching a portfolio of 900,000 household customers, and estimates show that it will surpass one million, according to Radu Constantin, CFO of Hidroelectrica.

“Hidroelectrica’s offer is particularly competitive. At this moment, we are rapidly approaching 900,000 household customers. Based on our projections, we will certainly surpass one million household customers in the company’s portfolio. This, of course, has placed significant pressure on our business model, as the shift towards the supply segment has required a resizing of all activities within the company. Nevertheless, we are successfully managing this transition, even in a particularly dry year,” Constantin said during a conference organized by InvestEnergy.

He explained that over the past three years, Hidroelectrica has played a very important role in the supply market.

“In 2018, the market was liberalized, and then we received GEO 114, when Hidroelectrica had to adapt to the new regulated market conditions. Afterwards came 2021, when the household consumer market was once again liberalized. Following these two milestones, conclusions have certainly been drawn both by the authorities and by political decision-makers. However, in the past three years, Hidroelectrica has played a very important role in this supply market. We will continue to remain present there. Challenges will come, but we take them literally day by day and move forward,” he emphasized.
