OMV Petrom, the largest integrated energy producer in Southeast Europe, and Saint-Gobain Romania, part of the Saint-Gobain Group, a world leader in the field of light and sustainable solutions for construction, announce the signing of an agreement for the supply of electricity from sources renewables for all Saint-Gobain facilities nationwide.
OMV Petrom will supply approximately 800 GWh of green energy in 14 Saint-Gobain locations in Romania over the next five years. Deliveries will begin in January 2026 and power will be obtained from wind and photovoltaic sources.
Franck Neel, member of the OMV Petrom directorate, responsible for the Gas and Energy activity: “Through the 2030 Strategy, we are committed to supporting the energy transition in Romania and in the region, with investments of around 11 billion euros until the end of this decade, of which about a third will support low-emission and zero-carbon projects. We have taken important steps in developing a portfolio of energy projects from renewable sources, which will gradually enter production in the coming years. We are delighted to announce this agreement with Saint-Gobain – it is more than an energy sales contract; it is a partnership for a low-carbon future for Romanian industry.”

With this investment, Saint-Gobain Romania will cover 100% of the energy needs at all its work points: Saint-Gobain Glass (Călărași), Saint-Gobain Isover (Ploiesti), Saint-Gobain Rigips (Turda and Cheia), Saint-Gobain Weber (Turda, Brănești, Suceava), Duraziv (Popești Leordeni), Saint-Gobain Prime Glass Working (Vălenii de Munte) and Chryso Romania (Ariceștii Rahtivani).
