    The Ministry of Energy is relaunching two calls for projects for batteries and photovoltaic panels

    The Ministry of Energy announces the relaunch of two project calls for investment in energy storage capacities (batteries) and photovoltaic panels. The total budget is of 278 million euros.

    The objective of the call for projects is to put into operation a capacity of at least 240 MW (or 480 MWh) of electricity storage in batteries, until June 30, 2026, contributing to the achievement of the objectives assumed by Romania within the PNRR. The competitive call is open until March 21 at 0.00.

    The purchase of installations/equipment for the construction of new capacities for the storage of electrical energy in batteries and the constructions that are the subject of the project for the storage of electrical energy in batteries are eligible.

    The total budget related to the scheme is equivalent in lei of the sum of 79,600,000 euros.

    The second call refers to projects to support investments in the construction of new production, assembly and recycling capacities of batteries, and to support investments in the construction of new production, assembly and recycling capacities of photovoltaic cells and panels.

    The total budget related to the call for projects is the equivalent in lei of the amount of 199,000,000 euros, as follows:

    – Realization of new production and/or assembly and recycling capacities of batteries: 149,250,000 euros

    – Realization of new capacities for production and/or assembly and recycling of photovoltaic cells and panels, including recycling: 49,750,000 euros.

    The objectives of the call for projects are:

    – putting into operation a capacity of at least 2 GW/year of production and/or assembly and recycling of batteries, until June 30, 2026, contributing to the achievement of the objectives assumed by Romania within the PNRR – Component C6. Energy, investment measure I.4. Industrial chain of production and/or assembly and/or recycling of batteries, cells and photovoltaic panels (including auxiliary equipment), as well as new electrical energy storage capacities;

    – putting into operation a capacity of at least 200 MW/year of production and/or assembly and recycling of photovoltaic cells or panels, until June 30, 2026, contributing to the achievement of the objectives assumed by Romania within the PNRR – Component C6. Energy, investment measure I.4. Industrial chain of production and/or assembly and recycling of batteries, cells and photovoltaic panels (including auxiliary equipment), as well as new electrical energy storage capacities.
