The Romanian Energy Center Association is continuing the tradition of organizing its flagship event in Brussels. The 12th edition of Romanian Energy Day (RED) will be organized on 27th of June 2023 in the location of Steigenberger Wiltcher’s Hotel, and will also be live streamed on the association’s official pages, Facebook and YouTube.
In 2023, RED will continue to highlight the important role that Romania plays in the context of the European energy transition established by the Green Deal and Fit for 55 programs, the REPowerEU plan and the new electricity market design.
RED 2023 brings together key stakeholders to highlight the best available scenarios for the current challenges and the roadmap to follow.

RED is already an established conference in the calendar of European and Romanian officials. In the 11 years of continuous organization, RED has permanently connected the Romanian energy industry with political leaders and interested parties from Brussels, benefiting from the participation of the vice-president of the European Commission, Mr. Maroš Šefčovič, of the commissioners for energy, Mr. Günther Oettinger, Mr. Miguel Arias Cañete, Ms. Kadri Simson, of the general director for energy, Mr. Dominique Ristori, the Romanian members of the European Parliament as well as senior Romanian officials from the Ministry of Energy and the National Energy Regulatory Authority.
The European Union is facing probably its most challenging decade since its establishment. The” polycrisis” environment of the past two years, sanitary, economic, societal and military determine the deepest global energy crisis, posing serious threats to the member states’ stability and competitiveness on the international arena.
However, the European energy security is going through a moment of great opportunities. Re-engaging actors into multi-country measures, strengthening interconnections and supply sources, evolving power relations, the emergence of new energy technologies and subsequent labor skills will reform the energy markets, ultimately strengthening security of supply, assuring energy prices affordability and accelerating the energy transition.
