SAP has appointed Hermann Erlach as Managing Director for Central and Eastern Europe, effective October 1, 2026. In his new role, Erlach will oversee SAP’s operations across 24 countries in Central Europe, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Romania is among the countries he is responsible for. He will be based in Vienna, Austria.

Erlach joins SAP from Microsoft Austria, where, as General Manager, he led the organization through a period of rapid technological and market change.

His appointment marks Erlach’s return to SAP. Between 2008 and 2015, he held several leadership positions at the company, gaining experience across sales, services, customer engagement and business transformation at both local and regional levels.

Over the course of an international leadership career spanning more than 20 years, Erlach has also held roles in management consulting, technology services, enterprise sales and organizational transformation.

Commenting on his new role leading the Central and Eastern Europe region, Hermann Erlach said:

“I am delighted to return to SAP at a time when organizations are rethinking how technology creates value. Successful transformation is not just about technology. It is equally about leadership, trust and people. SAP is uniquely positioned to help customers turn the potential of Business AI and digital innovation into measurable business outcomes. I look forward to working with our teams, customers and partners across the CEE region to jointly contribute to greater competitiveness and create long-term value.”
