CPI Romania brings Primark, Peek&Cloppenburg and Reserved to Sun Plaza Bucharest

    Published on

CPI Romania marks a new stage in the development of Sun Plaza, the most important commercial center in its local portfolio, by attracting famous international brands such as Primark, Peek&Cloppenburg, and Reserved. These new openings are part of an extensive process to modernize and reposition the commercial center in Bucharest.

Recently, CPI Property Group obtained a club-deal-type financing of 100 million euros, granted by OTP Bank and ING Bank Romania, for the largest commercial center in CPI Romania’s retail portfolio.

Geanina Ungureanu, Head of Retail, CPI Romania: “Securing renowned retailers such as Auchan, Primark, Peek & Cloppenburg, and Reserved further validates Sun Plaza’s strong appeal among leading international brands and marks a defining moment in the evolution of the commercial center. We are remodeling a large area to create a new fashion hub, featuring concepts and services tailored to a modern lifestyle. We are investing in a balanced commercial mix that lives up to the expectations of an ever-demanding consumer, consolidating Sun Plaza’s position as one of the main shopping and leisure destinations in Bucharest.”

The Primark store in Bucharest will span approximately 3,000 sqm, while Peek&Cloppenburg is expanding its collaboration with CPI Romania with a new 3,200 sqm store, following its existing locations at VIVO! Constanța and VIVO! Cluj-Napoca. Reserved will also join the new fashion offering, with a store spanning approximately 2,200 sqm across two levels.

The new configuration will be completed by a next-generation Auchan hypermarket, with a surface area of approximately 7,000 sqm, estimated to open by the end of the year. In this next stage, the area will integrate new food and service concepts, which will contribute to a more diversified and relevant shopping experience.

Sun Plaza presently hosts 170 stores, and the ongoing investments are part of CPI Romania’s strategy to develop the commercial center through the optimization of the tenant mix, the modernization of spaces, and investments in sustainability. With this new phase of development, Sun Plaza consolidates its position as one of the most important retail destinations in Bucharest and the primary commercial center in the Capital’s south.
