Primark opens first store in Sibiu following an investment of over 8 million euros

    Published on

Primark has officially opened its first store in Sibiu, located in Shopping City, following an investment of over 8 million euros. The new store spans more than 2,300 sqm of retail space across one floor. With this opening, over 100 new jobs have been created locally.

The opening comes just one month after Primark’s arrival in Craiova, continuing a period of rapid expansion in Romania this year. Further openings are planned in Iași and Bacău by the end of 2026, alongside a third Bucharest store at Sun Plaza in the 2026-2027 financial year, bringing Primark’s total store count in Romania to nine.

Maciej Podwojski, Director of CEE, Primark said: “We’re delighted to open our first store in Sibiu and become part of the local community. Coming just one month after our opening in Craiova, this marks another exciting step in our continued investment in Romania and our growing presence across the region. We’ve built a fantastic team here and can’t wait to welcome customers from Sibiu and beyond, offering the great value fashion that Primark is known for around the world.”

Ramona Marusac, Regional Head of Leasing at Nepi Rockcastle added: “The opening of Primark at Shopping City Sibiu further confirms NEPI Rockcastle’s commitment to bringing the most relevant and trusted names in international retail into its portfolio. In doing so, we develop retail destinations that meet the expectations and needs of local communities. We are delighted to welcome Primark to Sibiu and are confident that it will quickly become a favourite brand amongst residents across the entire region.”

Primark now operates six stores in Romania: two in Bucharest (AFI Cotroceni and ParkLake Shopping Centre), and one each in Iulius Mall Timișoara, VIVO! Cluj-Napoca, ElectroPutere Mall Craiova, and now Shopping City Sibiu.
