evomag integrates AI into key operational processes as it marks 21 years in Romanian ecommerce

    Published on

evomag celebrates 21 years of continuous presence on the Romanian eCommerce market by integrating artificial intelligence into key operational processes, aiming to improve efficiency, speed of execution, and teams’ ability to manage larger activity volumes.

The solutions are currently used in workflows supporting corporate offer management, identification of relevant public tenders, order processing, financial reconciliation, returns management, and product documentation.

The company’s strategic direction focuses on strengthening its operational model by automating repetitive and time-consuming processes while enabling faster access to structured, correlated, and business-relevant data. AI is being integrated into areas where response speed, data accuracy, and the ability to correlate information from multiple sources directly influence commercial and operational performance.

In the public procurement segment, evomag uses AI to automatically scan and filter tenders published on SEAP/SICAP, Romania’s public procurement platforms. The system identifies opportunities relevant to the company and helps teams match tender specifications with products available in the portfolio, significantly reducing the time needed to prepare offers.

On the operational and financial side, automation tools process reports, summaries, and invoice appendices received from logistics partners. The systems read and extract information from large data volumes, preparing it for financial reconciliation.

Within courier and returns workflows, AI compares information received from couriers with AWBs, orders, and products in the company’s systems, flagging discrepancies, parcels with uncertain status, and cost differences.

evomag also uses AI solutions to monitor confirmed and processed orders, helping identify potential supplier delays more quickly and enabling teams to intervene before bottlenecks affect deliveries.

At the same time, intelligent tools identify complementary services suitable for ordered products, contributing to more efficient order processing and the preparation of more comprehensive offers.

“Being present on the market for 21 years gives us a clear perspective on how resilience is built in an online retail business. We have gone through different stages of the market, periods of accelerated growth, commercial pressures, and major shifts in consumer behavior. At this stage, strengthening the company means efficiency, operational discipline, and the ability to use technology where it creates concrete impact.

AI helps us eliminate repetitive activities, work faster with large volumes of data, and give teams more room for decision-making, analysis, and relationships with partners and customers. For evomag, this direction is part of a long-term strategic vision: we want to grow sustainably, with better processes, greater responsiveness, and stronger operational control.

In the long run, our objective is for AI to become an integral part of how we make commercial and operational decisions, based on better-structured and more rapidly available data,” said Mihai Pătrașcu, CEO of evomag.
