HELLENiQ Renewables accelerates accelerates expansion in Romania with 96 MW wind farm in Galați County

    Published on

HELLENiQ Renewables, a subsidiary of HELLENiQ ENERGY, is moving ahead at pace with the construction of its new 96 MW wind farm in Galați County, Romania, marking another important milestone in the Group’s growing renewable energy footprint in Southeast Europe.

Construction works are progressing rapidly, with eight of the project’s 15 turbine foundations already completed. Once operational, the wind farm will feature Vestas turbines and is expected to enter commercial operation in 2027.

“It is a demanding and technically sophisticated project that is advancing according to schedule, reinforcing our confidence in its successful completion,” said Mihai Darie, Head of HELLENiQ Renewables Romania.

The Galați wind farm further strengthens HELLENiQ ENERGY’s expanding presence in Romania’s renewable energy sector. Earlier this year, the Group launched its first operational renewable assets in the country, bringing online two photovoltaic parks with a combined capacity of 58 MW in Teleorman and Olt counties. Additional renewable projects with a combined capacity of 153 MW, are expected to be completed and enter commercial operation in 2026.

HELLENiQ ENERGY’s renewable energy portfolio under development in Romania now exceeds 850 MW, spanning wind, solar and energy storage projects.
