SanoVita appoints Mihai Neagu as CEO

    Published on

Romanian plant-based food producer SanoVita has announced the appointment of Mihai Neagu as Chief Executive Officer, as the company prepares for a new phase of growth and international expansion.

Neagu brings more than 30 years of experience in the fast-moving consumer goods sector, having previously held leadership roles at companies including Kandia Dulce, Mogyi România, Dobrogea Grup, Perla Harghitei and Apemin Tușnad.

In his new role, Neagu will oversee SanoVita’s next stage of development, focusing on strengthening the company’s brand, accelerating new product launches, deepening partnerships with retailers and expanding the company’s international footprint.

“I joined SanoVita with great respect for everything that has been built over the past 30 years and with confidence in the company’s future potential and its team,” Neagu said. “I believe in leadership based on transparency, collaboration and continuous development, but above all in the power of people who share the same vision. I am convinced that the organization has the energy, experience and professionals needed to take the company into a new stage of evolution.”

Neagu succeeds Anca Pașca, under whose leadership SanoVita underwent an extensive rebranding and operational consolidation process.

During that period, the company revamped its product portfolio by improving recipes and introducing modern packaging designed to better communicate product benefits to consumers. SanoVita also accelerated innovation and expanded into new consumer categories.

Among the company’s recent launches was a granola range manufactured in Romania, which received an industry award less than a year after its debut. In 2025, SanoVita further expanded its portfolio with new biscuit and nut mix products, following the 2024 launch of a granola and muesli range featuring functional benefits based on baked whole grains and naturally occurring vitamins and minerals.

Founded more than three decades ago, SanoVita is one of Romania’s leading plant-based food manufacturers. The company offers products across multiple categories, including breakfast cereals, puffed wheat and rice cakes, superfoods, tofu, plant-based spreads, staple foods, dried fruits and nuts.

SanoVita operates two production facilities in Vâlcea County and is majority-owned by U.S. investment company Highlander Partners, which is supporting the company’s accelerated expansion through investments in new products, equipment and team development.
