E.ON Energie România to invest 120 million euros over the next five years

    Published on

E.ON Energie România plans to invest approximately 120 million euros over the next five years, primarily to expand its portfolio of energy solutions, including photovoltaic systems, heat pumps, energy efficiency services, and electric mobility infrastructure. The company aims to help customers reduce energy consumption and optimize energy costs.

Around 67% of the planned investment — approximately 80 million euros — will be allocated to the development of Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) energy solution systems, considered a key instrument for the energy transition and long-term energy cost stability for businesses.

“We surpassed the 100 million euros revenue threshold in 2025 on the energy solutions and services segment, marking a 17% increase compared to the previous year — a first for the company since entering this market ten years ago. We will focus even more on developing this segment in the coming years, especially in the area of long-term energy purchase agreements,” said Claudia Griech, CEO of E.ON Energie România.

At the end of 2025, more than 110,000 customers were using solutions delivered by E.ON, including photovoltaic systems, heat pumps, electric vehicle charging stations, and modern heating and cooling systems.

In the residential heating and cooling segment, more than 100,000 families use condensing boilers supplied by the company, alongside heat pumps and high-performance air conditioning systems.

In the renewable energy sector, E.ON installed more than 4,500 photovoltaic systems in 2025, 25% more than in the previous year. By year-end, more than 9,200 families were using complete green energy production solutions.

In the electric mobility segment, E.ON surpassed 670 private charging points installed for electric vehicles.

For business solutions, the company delivered more than 400 turnkey photovoltaic power plants for partners across multiple industrial and service sectors.

A major milestone in the company’s green energy expansion was the operational launch of its first long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). Through the completion of a photovoltaic plant for the Webasto factory in Arad, E.ON became a renewable energy producer. The project, valued at around €1 million, was developed, financed, implemented, and operated by the company.
