ABB Romania launches next‑generation circuit breaker at its Customer Experience Center in Bucharest

    Published on

ABB Romania has officially introduced the SACE Emax 3, ABB’s most advanced air circuit breaker, during an event held at the ABB Customer Experience Center in Bucharest. Customers, business partners and industry professionals attended the launch, experiencing firsthand how ABB’s latest innovations support energy resilience, digitalization and sustainable infrastructure development.

The newly launched SACE Emax 3 is designed to meet the growing demands of high‑power facilities such as data centers, industrial plants, hospitals, airports and other critical infrastructures. It incorporates breakthrough technologies that enhance safety, operational continuity and proactive maintenance. The product features advanced sensing, real-time data analytics, predictive maintenance algorithms and is recognized as the world’s first air circuit breaker certified to IEC 62443‑4‑2 Security Level 2 (SL2), significantly raising cybersecurity standards in electrical systems.

The Emax 3 also includes a fully integrated arc‑flash detection system, providing enhanced protection for people and equipment. It builds upon the legacy of the Emax 2, bringing stronger grid stability, better digital intelligence, and more accurate power monitoring to support uninterrupted power in mission‑critical environments.

Mioara Brasoveanu, Vice President Commercial, Electrification, said: „This launch perfectly reflects our commitment to helping customers in Romania navigate an increasingly digital and electrified world. The SACE Emax 3 embodies the resilience, intelligence and cybersecurity needed to support modern infrastructures. Hosting this event at our Customer Experience Center allows our partners to see how ABB innovations work together to make buildings and industries smarter, safer, and more sustainable.”
