The official opening will take place at 9:00 am, in the presence of central authorities, ambassadors of several countries with national pavilions and officials from the Republic of Moldova, this year’s edition marking the collaboration between the two states in the field of sustainable development.

Over 800 mayors, as well as public administrators and presidents of county councils are also expected. The event is organized by Romexpo and Euroexpo Fairs, with the institutional support of the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests, the Ministry of Energy, the Department for Sustainable Development, the Association of Romanian Municipalities, the National Union of County Councils of Romania and the Association of Public Administrators of Romania. For three days, the two pavilions and the outdoor platforms become an applied workspace, where technology providers, integrators, financiers and final beneficiaries can directly discuss projects, budgets and implementation deadlines.

The focus of the 2026 edition is on concrete solutions and their integration into communities – from large cities to medium-sized and small local administrations.

“The unprecedented presence and involvement of central and local authorities in GREEN ENERGY EXPO & ROMENVIROTEC honors us and shows us the need we have as a country to work together to ensure the quality of life in communities. Those who regulate policies in the field of sustainable development and those who make investment decisions in communities have the opportunity to dialogue with technology producers, professionals in the field, associations, the educational environment and civil society. We are glad that we manage to create this meeting place between those who bring innovation and those who make it an integral part of our daily lives.”, declares Camelia Buda, General Manager of Euroexpo Fairs and co-organizer of GREEN ENERGY EXPO & ROMENVIROTEC.

“GREEN ENERGY EXPO & ROMENVIROTEC is the space where opportunities are created, technologies are validated and strategic partnerships are built. The growing interest of the business environment, the public sector and professional organizations confirms that sustainable development has become a strategic direction. Dialogue between technology providers, integrators, financiers and end beneficiaries is essential for accelerating projects and transforming strategies into measurable results. Our role, at ROMEXPO, is to provide the professional framework in which these collaborations can begin and be consolidated. When the initiatives launched here materialize in projects with real impact in communities, we know that we are fulfilling our mission to support long-term development”, adds Mihai Costriş – Romexpo Executive Director. CITY OF THE FUTURE (PAVILION B1)

“City of the Future – The Living City Experience” occupies 11,000 sqm and functions as an integrated urban demo. The concept brings together solutions for renewable energy, energy efficiency, water infrastructure, waste management, smart lighting and green urban planning, presented in an applied context. The area includes the Institutional Agora, dedicated to dialogue between administrations and companies, as well as the Sustainability Boulevard, where technologies are presented in real use scenarios: charging stations, traffic sensors, smart pedestrian crossings, lighting systems and solutions for public spaces. The concept is completed by an integrated landscaping, with 2,500 plants and shrubs, which supports the idea of a balance between infrastructure and nature.

PAVILION B2 Pavilion B2 and the outdoor platforms are dedicated to solutions for renewable energy and environmental protection: waste collection, sorting and recycling, sanitation, recycling centers, drinking and wastewater management. Conferences and professional debates are scheduled on the five thematic stages – from the International Environmental Forum and the Green Energy Summit, to the Circular Economy Conference and the Conference of Mayors from Romania and the Republic of Moldova, with a focus on implemented projects, financing and good practices.

GREEN ENERGY EXPO & ROMENVIROTEC is aimed at energy professionals, the waste and water management industry, public administration, investors, real estate developers, architects, entrepreneurs, academia and NGOs. The event is also open to the public interested in sustainable solutions for homes and communities. Access to the event is free, and the visiting program is on March 3-4, between 10:00-16:00.
