Women in Energy V: Female Leadership for the Future of Energy

    Published on

The energy transition profoundly impacts the lives of everyone, regardless of gender. However, the energy sector has traditionally been dominated by men. According to a study conducted by the Boston Consulting Group in 2022, only 29% of employees in this field are women, and their percentage on the boards of directors of energy companies is even lower, at 26%. These figures highlight the need to increase female representation in the sector and to capitalize on the professional potential of women in this crucial field.

Future Energy Leaders (FEL) Romania, the youth initiative of the Romanian National Committee of the World Energy Council (CNR-WEC), organizes on December 3, 2025, between 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM, at the Crowne Plaza Bucharest, the 5th edition of the “Women in Energy” conference.

This event aims to create an authentic space for dialogue for women in the energy sector, focusing on leadership, professional development and mentoring. Through the conference, participants will explore ways to strengthen women’s involvement in the energy industry and discuss concrete solutions for a more equitable and inclusive energy transition. The event also aims to inspire new generations of female professionals and demonstrate the value of mentorship in the careers of women in the field.

The event will feature 2 discussion panels, moderated by FEL Romania members:
