RebelDot, a software development company from Cluj, and GEA, one of the world’s leading suppliers of process technologies and equipment for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical sectors, announce the formation of RebelDot Process Industries, a joint venture and long-term strategic partnership designed to accelerate digital transformation in the global process industry. The new company will be headquartered in Cluj-Napoca and officially launched in January 2026.
RebelDot Process Industries will provide specialized software development services – web solutions, mobile applications, and DevOps – tailored to the needs of industrial manufacturers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
The new joint venture combines GEA’s expertise in the process industry with RebelDot’s excellence in software engineering, helping process industry companies and mechanical engineering manufacturers accelerate the development, scaling, and operation of their digital solutions. Customers will benefit from shorter product time-to-market, increased development efficiency, and more cost-effective operations through modern DevOps practices.
Tom Oelsner, Chief Digital Officer, GEA: “The joint venture enables us to combine our leading industry expertise with software excellence. This underscores our ambition to lead the digital transformation of the process industry and deliver first-class value to our customers”.
RebelDot is one of Romania’s fastest-growing tech companies. With more than 300 specialists and a 40% year-on-year increase in 2024, the company is recognized for its digital product development capabilities and its continuous investment in artificial intelligence.
Tudor Ciuleanu, CEO, RebelDot: “This joint venture with GEA represents an important milestone for RebelDot and for the entire technology ecosystem we are part of. It demonstrates that our region can contribute with much more than high-quality engineering – it can deliver strategy, product thinking, innovation, and trust.
The creation of RebelDot Process Industries, in partnership with a company listed on the DAX (Deutscher Aktienindex – Germany’s main stock market index comprising its largest companies), shows that global enterprises are increasingly turning toward collaboration models based on co-creation with local teams, rather than traditional outsourcing. This is a strong validation of the potential this region holds.
Our accumulated experience in digital innovation projects, combined with GEA’s global reach and industry expertise, creates a solid foundation for building sustainable digital solutions with real impact across the process industry. This is a strategic project for RebelDot and an important step toward strengthening our presence on the global technology stage.”
