Orange Romania reports a turnover of 684 million euros, down 2.1 percent in the first half of 2025

In the first six months of 2025, Orange Romania achieved a consolidated turnover of 684 million euros, down 2.1 percent compared to the same period last year. At the end of this period, the company offered mobile services to over 9 million customers, fixed broadband internet to over 1 million customers and cable and satellite television services to over 1 million customers.

In the first part of the year, Orange continued its plans to expand and improve its mobile and fixed networks. Investments will exceed EUR 200 million by the end of 2025, maintaining the same pace as before, despite economic pressures and significant imbalances in the telecommunications market.

More and more customers are choosing solutions based on modern infrastructure – 4G, 5G and fiber optic – while the use of old generation services, such as DTH and xDSL, continues to decline, reflecting the natural transition to new technologies.

Customer interest in digital offers is reconfirmed by the 100% digital service YOXO, which recorded a 14 percent increase in the number of new users in H1 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.

Orange Business recorded a 9.8 percent increase in IT&C services in H1 2025, compared to the same period last year. Integrating state-of-the-art technologies, Orange Business offers customers a full range of IT&C services, with a focus on the integration of cloud services, cybersecurity and digital infrastructure, perfectly adapted to customer needs. As more and more companies choose personalized services that support their operational efficiency, revenues from this type of solution increased by 65.7% compared to the same period last year.

The Orange Foundation’s digital education and social inclusion programs generated a significant impact for almost 57,000 beneficiaries in the first six months of the year, with a total investment of over 1.7 million euros, figures that mark an increase of approximately 20% compared to last year.

The Digitaliada platform, which has been offering teachers free access to educational content that is extremely useful in classroom teaching for 10 years, currently has over 2,700 schools in rural and urban areas and brings together over 90,000 users (students, teachers and parents). This year, for the first time, access to the platform was also facilitated for schools in the Danube Delta, by equipping them with state-of-the-art technology through the 5G Connect Danube Delta project, co-financed by the European Commission, and organizing training sessions dedicated to teachers in villages isolated from water.

“In a highly competitive market, marked by imbalances and financial challenges, we are making every effort to remain consistent. Along with quality services, we offer a lot of flexibility, which is, by the way, the expectation of most customers. We have built an adaptable commercial offer, which covers a wide range of needs, both in the residential and business segments. And this would not have been possible without constant investments in quality networks.

Just one year after completing the merger with Orange Romania Communications, we are seeing progress in the direction we set out. Transforming into a converged provider is not an easy path, but I am confident that this is the right strategy. As with any merger of this size, we are observing pressure on financial performance. However, we are also seeing improvements, especially in the B2B area, and a stabilization of the customer base. There are still a few crucial steps left to complete the complex integration of IT systems. We will continue to invest in our networks, in the modernization of the infrastructure. I consider that these efforts must also be supported by a fair legislative and economic framework that stimulates investment and innovation. Digital infrastructure is a differentiating factor for Romania and an engine of economic growth”, said Julien Ducarroz, CEO of Orange Romania.
