Pavăl Holding announces the acquisition of the Praktiker Hellas network in Greece, thus marking the first international step for Dedeman, the leader of the Romanian DIY market.

This strategic move represents the beginning of a new stage in the brand’s evolution, through regional expansion.

“We have long wanted to take this step, and today the dream becomes a reality. It is a challenge for us, but also a new beginning that we look towards with great confidence and responsibility. We are proud that a 100% Romanian brand manages to cross borders and carry forward the principles we believe in and that have always guided us: respect for people, honest work and team spirit.” declares Dragoș Pavăl, president of Dedeman.

Praktiker Hellas, the leader in the DIY market in Greece, operates a network of 17 physical stores and an online store, serving customers with a portfolio of over 50,000 products and complementary services.

As part of this strategic transaction, the company also signed a notarial pre-agreement with Eurobank for the acquisition of all properties in its current portfolio, which are currently rented. This step will consolidate operational stability and strengthen Praktiker Hellas’ long-term presence in the Greek market.

“We felt from the beginning a real compatibility between us and the Praktiker Hellas team, through the way we understand the relationship with customers, the care for employees and the responsibility towards communities. It was therefore not just a business decision, but a match of values that gives us the confidence that together we can develop something truly sustainable.” added Dragoș Pavăl.

In parallel, Dedeman continues its expansion plans in Romania. Soon, work will begin on a new store in Mediaș, a step that reaffirms the company’s commitment to the domestic market.

“This acquisition does not mean that we are moving away from Romania, but quite the opposite. We continue to invest in the national network, to be present where our customers need us. Now, with more courage, we dream even further. We want to capitalize on the synergies between the two organizations, taking the best from each. We sincerely believe that together we can become stronger than we would have been separately,” Dragoș Pavăl emphasized.
