Schneider Electric – smart metering, maintenance and cloud hosting solutions for CTP (P)

Schneider Electric provides smart metering and maintenance solutions in Romania for CTP, the largest listed developer, owner and manager of industrial and logistics spaces in Europe, by gross leasable area (GLA). The two companies have started a partnership that covers the largest CTP industrial parks in Romania.
CTP set out to improve the way it monitors and reports energy consumption, given the growing number of projects and tenants in CTP’s portfolio and the need to automate these processes. In addition, the complexity of the centers’ energy supply system is extensive, currently including its own production through photovoltaic panels installed on the roofs of the warehouses.
“With increasingly complex industrial parks to manage and a growing number of tenants, CTP wanted to implement a centralized energy consumption data collection system, with a reporting system that would allow tracking consumption over time, viewing consumption history for each location and for each tenant, to ensure transparency and enable optimization,” said Bogdan Paraschiv, Digital Services Sales Manager at Schneider Electric Romania. “In addition, the Building Management System solution had to be accessible from anywhere and be able to automatically generate detailed invoices for both grid consumption and internal production of solar parks.”
Schneider Electric designed a dedicated solution for CTP, including electric meters that collect and report unified information from the field regarding electricity consumption through EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert (PME), a software application that allows for electricity management by monitoring electricity, gas, water and other utility consumption. More than just a simple reading of electricity consumption, CTP industrial parks were thus equipped with a customized energy management solution that covers the entire electricity distribution system, allowing monitoring of its reliability and over time being able to estimate the need for consumption.
“We initially started with a requirement that covered the installation of meters and a software capable of centralizing and reporting field data and we delivered a complex energy management solution, based on the cloud, for which we ensure maintenance, we are responsible for situations in which the system is disconnected, all under cybersecurity conditions validated by experts”, explains Bogdan Paraschiv, Digital Services Sales Manager Schneider Electric Romania.
The project began in December 2024, with an initial implementation of 130 meters in 4 CTP locations, in Bucharest and Pitesti, later being expanded to cover 3500 meters in multiple locations. In addition to meter integration services, cloud hosting services in the Azure Cloud have been added, on a dedicated domain, for the EcoStruxure Power Management Expert application customized for the needs of the CTP beneficiary.
“At CTP, we put the customer at the center of everything we do. We wanted billing to be not only correct, but also perfectly transparent – that’s why we issue differentiated invoices, based on real and traceable consumption, which reflect the exact source and cost of energy. It is a natural step in our mission to create sustainable value in the long term”, said Bogdan Patranca, Energy & Property Director, CTP Romania.
