DEER kicks off the 43rd edition of the Electrician’s Trophy (P)

In a festive setting, the hall of the “Sică Alexandrescu” Dramatic Theater in Brașov hosted on Tuesday, May 20, the official opening of the 43rd edition of the Electrician’s Trophy, the company phase – one of the most important and long-standing professional competitions in the energy sector.
The opening ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, representatives of central and local authorities, the Electrica group, the DEER management and institutional partners. Among them were: the prefect of Brașov County, Mr. Mihai Cătălin Văsii, the president of the Brașov County Council, Mr. Adrian Veștea, the mayor of Brașov Municipality, Mr. George Scripcaru, the president of ANRE, Mr. George Niculescu, the president of the Industry and Services Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, Mr. Sandor Bende, President of FNSE Univers, Mr. Nicolae Buzea, President of the Board of Directors of DEER, Ms. Anna Maria Vasile, and Ms. Andreea Lambru, Director of Business Development within the Electrica Group.
The Minister of Energy, Mr. Sebastian Burduja, sent a video message in which he emphasized the importance of the electrician profession and sent wishes for success to all participants, noting their involvement, professionalism and involvement in the life of the communities in which they operate.
The representatives of the authorities present appreciated, during their speeches, the continuous efforts of DEER specialists and the management team to modernize, digitize and develop the electricity distribution infrastructure, in a context marked by the energy transition and the increasing need to adapt to the requirements of the future.
Ms. Mihaela Rodica Suciu, General Manager of DEER, addressed a message of appreciation to all participants, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between all parties involved in the energy sector – authorities, management, unions, Electrica group – in order to respond effectively and responsibly to the needs of consumers and communities.
This year’s edition brings together 224 competitors and 15 students from dual education, grouped into 8 professional sections:
- Operation of 110 kV/MV electrical transformer stations
- Operation of MV and LV electrical distribution networks
- PRAM (protection through relays, automation and measurement)
- Electricity measurement and verification of metering groups
- Installation and repair of primary equipment in 110 kV and MV transformer stations
- Installation and repair of MV and LV distribution installations
- Fault detection of MV and LV underground power lines
- Distribution energy dispatcher
For over four decades, the Electrician’s Trophy has maintained its essential role in recognizing performance and promoting professional excellence in the energy sector. The event offers not only rigorous competition on trades, but also a valuable framework for development, learning and consolidation of the professional culture within DEER.
