BCR has granted 18.5 million euros in financing to Italian group Alerion Clean Power for the construction of a new photovoltaic project with an installed capacity of 35 MW, located in Călărași County. The investment loan granted by BCR has the maturity date in 2040, and the total investment in the development of the solar park amounts to 26.8 million euros.

“At BCR, we stay close to the communities we serve and remain a trusted partner for projects that bring clean energy and sustainable development. In our partnership with the Alerion Group, we found a visionary team committed to the future of clean energy, and we are pleased that together we can contribute to the development of new projects that prioritize Romania’s energy security,” said Bogdan Dima, Regional Corporate Director, BCR.

“This new project represents another important step in Alerion’s commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio across Europe,” said Josef Gostner Chairman & CEO, Alerion Clean Power S.p.A. “We are pleased to strengthen our presence in Romania, a country where we see significant potential for clean energy development. The support of BCR demonstrates the confidence in our vision and reinforces our dedication to a sustainable energy transition.”

Alerion Clean Power, listed on the Milan Stock Exchange, generates electricity primarily from wind sources and is active in Italy, Spain, Romania, and Bulgaria. In Romania, the Italian group has developed several wind park projects to date, located in Aușeu-Borod, Vrani, Jimbolia, and Sânnicolau Mare.

In 2024, Alerion Group started production at two new photovoltaic plants in Romania, located in the town of Periș, each with an installed capacity of approximately 6 MWp, and an estimated annual production of around 19 GWh.
