BDR Associates announces new edition of the Superbrands Program for Romania
BDR Associates launched the 11th edition of the Superbrands Romania Program, 2024-2025. The Honorary Superbrands Council was appointed, consisting of 30 personalities from various industries and business sectors, including leaders of multinational companies, and experts in management, marketing, advertising, strategic communication, branding, media, and consulting.
Ipsos Romania is the strategic partner of Superbrands for the complex activities involved in preparing and implementing the market research phase. For business brands, the ESG criteria (Environment, Sustainability, Governance) will be included for the first time in Romania.
Both commercial and business brands will be evaluated from a reputational perspective in the current edition. The criteria considered in the selection process for both categories, Consumers and Business, are reputation, trust, quality, and market differentiation, in line with the global methodology for the Superbrands programs conducted in various markets.
” With the help of Ipsos and the Honorary Council, made up of thirty business and branding personalities, we will evaluate, once more, the impact that brands have on the economy, in business partnerships, in the life of the community or the consumer, including from an ESG perspective. Next year will mark the 20th anniversary of Superbrands Programs in Romania. It is not only an exceptional anniversary milestone, but also a confirmation of the fact that leading brands are the strongest reputational voice of Romania.” said Cătălina Rousseau, President and CEO of BDR Associates, and Country Manager of Superbrands Romania.
According to the list compiled by sociologists from Ipsos, the first phase of the program has included 1,804 commercial brands in 61 categories, such as financial services – banking, automotive, retail, building materials and accessories, medical services, courier services, airlines, media, streaming services, festivals, hotels, restaurants and resorts, food delivery platforms, sports clubs, as well as food and beverages, personal and household care products, clothing and footwear, and other categories. These brands now enter the evaluation phase, conducted by the Honorary Superbrands Council. Following the Council’s vote, the shortlist of selected commercial brands will be submitted to the second stage of judging, consumer market research.
Along with the research for the Consumers category, Ipsos will also draw up a list of Business brands that will then be evaluated by the Honorary Superbrands Council. The Council will decide and validate the final list of business brands declared eligible for Superbrand status in Romania in the current edition.
The next stages of the program include, as for each edition, the announcement of the results of the jury and market research, once finalized; the elaboration of the book Superbrands Romania Volume XI and the invitation of representative brands for the local market to tell their reputational and branding success stories in the book; the launch of Superbrands Romania Volume XI and the awarding of the Superbrands trophies at the festive gala expected to take place at the beginning of 2025, celebrating 20 years of the Superbrands Programs in Romania. The anniversary volume dedicated to Romania will later be published on the global website of the international Superbrands organization.
