    Maria Rousseva appointed as CEO of BRD

    The National Bank of Romania approved the nomination of Maria Rousseva as CEO of BRD-Groupe Societe Generale, for a 4-years mandate, according to a report submitted to the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

    The mandate will start running from the 3rd working day after receiving the approval of the National Bank of Romania. On the date of the entry into force of Maria Rousseva’s mandate as CEO, the current mandate as Deputy CEO of Global Corporates will cease.

    In August, BRD – Groupe Societe Generale announced that François Bloch has decided to step down as CEO after September 26, 2023, to take up other responsibilities within the Societe Generale Group.

    Maria Rousseva was a member of the BRD Steering Committee. She has over 23 years of experience in the banking industry, of which 18 years in management positions within the Societe Generale Group, including Deputy CEO at Expressbank in Bulgaria from 2012 to 2015, CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board at Societe Generale Bank Serbia from 2015 to 2019 and Deputy CEO at Rosbank from 2019 to 2022.
