    Orange Romania announces the financial results for the third quarter of 2023

    Orange Group today announces its financial results for the third quarter of 2023, available on September 30.

    In the first nine months of 2023, the turnover is 1.144 billion euros, down 2.1% compared to the same period last year. In the third quarter, the Orange Romania Group achieved a consolidated turnover of 384 million euros[i]. On September 30, 2023, the Orange Romania Group offered mobile services to 9.7 million customers, fixed broadband internet to 1.1 million customers, and cable and satellite television services to 1.2 million customers . Orange network: 38 cities with the fastest 5G mobile internet Providing the best connectivity experience remains a top concern for Orange, which has continued to expand its 4G/4G+ and 5G/5G+ networks.

    During Q3 2023, 4G coverage reached 98.76% of the population, and 4G+ coverage reached 82.23%. The 5G/5G+ network, with the fastest transfer speeds of up to 1.5 Gbps, is now also present in Baia Mare, Brăila and Galați, bringing the total number of cities with 5G coverage to 38. Orange Business: increasing interest in digitization solutions in the public and private environment In Orange Business, IT&C revenue in the last 9 months increased by 13% compared to the same period last year. Specifically, the third quarter saw a 45% increase compared to Q3 2022, supported by cyber security services that continue to be of interest to companies, but also smart city solutions and projects to digitize public administration and education.

    Digital Services Over 70% growth in YOXO’s customer base

    Thanks to the attractive offer launched by YOXO, the 9 lei subscription, flexibility and multiple facilities, the 100% digital product recorded at the end of Q3 2023 an increase of over 70% in the number of users compared to the same period last year. The chatbot, Djingo, and voicebot, Djia channels, benefited from increased customer interest this quarter as well, with Djia providing support for 11% more situations than last year, with the most frequently accessed features being roaming options, invoice and tender. Social responsibility: important steps for #NetZeroCarbon and digital inclusion efforts In Q3 2023, Orange continued to implement actions aimed at decarbonization, in line with the Orange Group’s commitment to reach #NetZeroCarbon by 2040.

    Thus, Orange reopened the store in Piața Victoriei under a new concept built around the “Re” program. With the support of customers, in the “Re” program, ~395,000 phones have been collected so far. In August, Orange announced that it had signed the first virtual Power Purchase Agreement (vPPA), through which the companies part of the Orange Romania Group will cover, in the next 6 years, 30 GWh of their annual electricity needs with green energy. Through digital inclusion programs, the Orange Foundation reached more and more beneficiaries this year. Since the launch of the Orange Digital Center, more than 800 participants from disadvantaged backgrounds have completed the center’s courses. At the same time, within the Digitaliada program, in the 9 months of this year, there was a 20% increase in the number of teachers and students involved, compared to the similar period of 2022.

While the consumer market has become increasingly demanding, the B2B segment has remained a growth engine thanks to the top solutions offered by Orange Business to companies and public administrations. In everything we do, it is a priority for us to reduce our carbon footprint and act responsibly towards the environment, taking concrete steps in this regard by launching a store under the “Re” concept, but also by increasing the degree of use of natural resources green energy”, said Julien Ducarroz, CEO of Orange Romania.
