Agreena, the company that developed one of the first internationally accredited soil carbon certification programs in Europe, announces the expansion of its national team management by appointing Mihaela Vasile as the market lead for Romania.

With 18 years of experience in agribusiness, Mihaela Vasile joined the Agreena team starting in January of this year with the key objective of developing and expanding the company’s operations in the local market.

“The field of carbon agriculture is innovative and of great interest globally. I am honored and pleased to be a part of the Agreena team, a trendsetting company in conservation agriculture and soil carbon storage. With the support of a strong team of professionals, I’m convinced that Agreena’s solutions support our country’s agriculture, and farmers will be able to be closer to the European trend to achieve strategic environmental objectives”, said Mihaela Vasile.

She previously coordinated the activities of public affairs, corporate communication, advocacy, and sustainability for the group of countries Romania, Bulgaria, and the Republic of Moldova, within several international companies, such as Monsanto and Bayer. Her main attributions were managing, planning, and promoting governmental relationships and advocacy actions. Throughout her career, she maintained communication with the European and national authorities,  farmers, and key industry associations.

Mihaela Monica graduated from the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies in statistics and economic forecasting; she obtained various diplomas in diplomacy and leadership techniques.

„We are honored to bring Mihaela Monica to our team and to expand our capabilities with her knowledge and expertise, especially at this moment of expansion in the Romanian market. We believe that her rich experience at the national and regional level is relevant, and we are confident in her authentic and personal relationships with Romanian farmers”, adds Simon Haldrup, CEO and co-founder of Agreena.

Agreena entered the Romanian market in 2019, under the name Commoditrader, even before developing Europe’s first internationally accredited soil carbon certification program. Today, it employs more than 120 professionals oriented towards farmers’ sustainable practices, with its main office in Copenhagen and operational team members throughout Europe. Agreena currently aims to intensify its activity in Romania, where 10% of the total hectares it manages at the European level resides and aims to support more Romanian farmers in the green transition.
