For 16 years, TenarisSilcotub has been awarding scholarships annually to top students from the most important technical universities in the country. The largest producer of seamless pipes in Romania decided, with the 2021 edition of the Roberto Rocca Education Program (RREP), to double the value of scholarships to 18,000 RON/ year for each of the 40 scholarship students.

“We want this scholarship to have a positive impact on students’ lives. We are united by the same desire to be better, more competitive and more successful. We believe in the power of education and we will continue to invest in this field,” says Mihaela Popescu, President of TenarisSilcotub.

Procurement of materials for courses and licenses, research projects or specialized workshops are the main directions in which the 40 students of the Technical University of Cluj Napoca (UTCN), the Polytechnic University of Bucharest (UPB), the Technical University “Gheorghe Asachi” Iasi and of the University of Petroleum and Gas Ploiești say that they will use the financial support received from the company.

Since its launch in Romania, Roberto Rocca Education Program has awarded scholarships for over 600 students in various technical specializations. Every year, the TenarisSilcotub team evaluates hundreds of applications from technical university students across the country to select students with the greatest development potential. The program aims, in addition to encouraging educational performance, to educate a new generation of leaders in the Romanian industry.
