Telekom Romania reports adjusted EBITDA of 26 million Euro in Q1 2019

    Published on

Telekom Romania group announces key performance indicators in the first quarter of 2019, ended March 31, 2019, as reported by OTE Group.

Consolidated revenues of Telekom Romania group in Q1 2019 reached 216.6 million Euro, down by 4.4 percent yoy.  Retail fixed services revenues amounted to 57.8 million Euro, down 12.2 percent, mainly as a result of lower revenues from fixed voice services, reflecting an unfavorable decline in both voice ARPU (average revenue per user) and customer base.

The TV customer segment registered a 3.7 percent decline in Q1 2019, to 1.41 million, mainly driven by the decline on old DTH technology. At the same time, the internet TV (IPTV) segment, recorded an 8.1 percent customer growth compared to the same quarter last year.

Mobile services revenues were down 6.6 percent to 76.2 million Euro in Q1 2019. The decline is chiefly due to the impact of the transition to IT platforms accounted for in Q4 2018, which led to a number of disconnections in the latter part of the year.

Combined adjusted EBITDA before IFRS 16 (International Financial Reporting Standards) declined by 20.8 percent to 26.2 million Euro, despite the positive impact generated by the termination of Telekom’s 4G national roaming agreement, in December 2018.
