IULIUS to invest 9 million euros in refurbishing the Iulius Mall Iasi shopping center

    Published on

Companies IULIUS and Atterbury Europe are allocating 9 million Euro to revamp Iulius Mall Iași. The project focuses on optimizing the technical infrastructure, as well as on diversifying the commercial offer by bringing new and affordable brands.

Iulius Mall Iași features 27,000 square meters of leasable area and was the second shopping center to open in Romania back in 2000. Since opening, the mall has undergone two expansions and substantial investments.

The current upgrade project, set to be carried out over the course of this year and to be completed in early 2027, entails interventions in the technical systems, as well as opening new stores, with a focus on relevant experiences catered to young people and families.

The technical infrastructure upgrades will result in improved visitor comfort, as well as enhanced energy and operating efficiency. Starting this summer, the shopping center will accommodate new stores, as well as expanded formats by existing retailers, spanning a total area of 5,800 square meters.

“Considering the retail market in Iași, we offer a unique, differentiating mix, based on brand diversity, competitive pricing, and attractive options. The revamp reflects our desire to meet our visitors’ ever-changing needs, including the youth segment of our public, for whom Iulius Mall remains a relevant destination. We are investing in new facilities catering to youth, such as a new creative and coworking space, but we are primarily focused on integrating brands that are known for their value for money in segments such as fashion, footwear, cosmetics, home items, and gastronomy,” said Vlad Huţu, Shopping Center Manager Iulius Mall Iași.

In the medium term, the revamp and upgrade project also includes the development of the largest creative space in Romania, with a total area spanning 2,000 square meters, set to be completed by 2027. The space will integrate 200-plus seats for coworking activities, as well as dedicated areas for students and professionals. Iulius Mall already offers a similar concept in Iulius Meets, a coworking space combining the shopping experience with work, study, and socializing activities.

In the entertainment segment, the remodeling of the Viper bowling and billiard club is currently underway and, starting this autumn, it will provide visitors with a modern relaxation concept.
