PPD Global, one of the leading local distributors of premium beverages, has invested 500,000 Euro in equipping its logistics center in Bucharest with modern photovoltaic panels with a total installed power of 405 kWp. PPD Global’s total investment in the logistics center amounts to 6.2 million Euro over the last five years.

With this investment, the company reduces its CO2 emissions by 150 tons annually. The project allows the warehouse to be supplied with renewable energy sources and the surplus to be fed into the national grid on a prosumer basis. The design and installation of the photovoltaic panels was carried out by Coral Construct.

“We are dedicated to reducing the environmental impact of our activities by investing in innovative energy saving solutions and renewable resources. This is an entirely self-funded project and is an important step in supporting global efforts to protect the environment. In the future, we are planning to equip our headquarters in Bucharest with photovoltaic panels as well”, said Alexandru Frangopol, General Manager for Romania at PPD Global.

PPD Global’s logistics center is located in the west part of the city, near the A1 Bucharest-Pitești highway.
