Avrig 35 hopes to beat recession with retail park in east capital
BLVD PALLADY Real estate developer Avrig 35 and Dutch developer Cascade Group will together pour 80 million Euro into the construction of a retail park in eastern Bucharest March 2010 - From the Print Edition
The Pallady Shopping Center will be located on Bulevard Pallady on the platform of the former pharma factory Sicomed.
The construction of the retail park, which will cover over 100,000 sqm of the 30 hectare land plot, will begin in May and will be completed in 2012.
The two developers have signed leasing contracts with the two main anchor tenants, French hypermarket chain Auchan and French sports equipment retailer Decathlon, which are both already present on the Romanian market.
Auchan rented 30,000 sqm of the retail park and the Decathlon store will cover 7,000 sqm. The park will also include a DIY store, a furniture and interior decoration store and a shopping gallery consisting of 110 stores.
Avrig 35 developed the office block Charles de Gaulle Plaza on Bucharest’s Piata Charles de Gaulle, while Cascade is now completing work on its green office block, Euro Tower on Barbu Vacarescu.
Avrig 35 is also planning to develop offices and residential units on the rest of the land plot on Bulevard Pallady.
