Dan Catalin Stancu appointed general manager of Electrica

The board of Electrica appointed Catalin Stancu in the position of general manager of the company, effective October 24 this year.

The manager takes over the function after the interim Iuliana Andronache, CFO filled the position since March 2016. Stancu, 53 years old has over 26-year experience in the field of energy and gas, with over 19 years spent with Electrica, between 1990 and 2009, in different leading positions, such as corporate affairs manager and privatization director. Also, along the time, he was member of the boards of Electrica Muntenia Nord, Electrica Distributie Transilvania Nord, Electrica Furnizare Transilvania Nord, E.ON Moldova and CEZ Oltenia. Starting 2009, Stancu was strategy and corporative development director at E.ON and member of the board of directors of E.ON Distributie Romania and E.ON Renewable.

Stancu graduated the Faculty of Energetics of Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest and has an MBA at Sheffield University and a management diploma at Codecs-Open University in UK.
