Government allocates 5.6 million Euro for RAAN to produce heavy water, without fearing work stoppages

The National Administration of State Reserves and Special Problems (ANRSPS) will buy, within the maximum amount of 25 million RON (around 5.6 million Euro), heavy water from the Autonomous Administration for Nuclear Activities (RAAN), which will be the maximum necessary stock for the I-IV units from Cernavoda's nuclear power plant

2015-06-08 21:28:22 - From the Print Edition

Romania's Government supplemented, in late May, the budget of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the institution under which ANRSPS operates, by exactly this amount to purchase the heavy water. The executive shows, in a press release quoted by Mediafax, that the 25 million RON amount will be used by RAAN for the purchase of coal needed to produce technological steam, as well as for expenses related to the technological process so as to avoid the emergency stop of the heavy water production facilities.
The maximum stock considered to be necessary for Cernavoda's I-IV units was determined based on the survey conducted by the Technological Engineering Centre for Nuclear Operations.
