Deloitte Romania promotes two new partners

Following their outstanding performances, Deloitte Romania is pleased to announce the promotion of two new partners effective June 1, 2015: Andrei Ionescu, who will lead the firm Enterprise Risk Services department and Vlad Boeriu, who specializes in indirect taxes.

"At Deloitte we set the bar high for partner admission and I am sure both Andrei and Vlad will continue to be an inspiration for their teams and offer the highest quality of service to our clients."

Andrei Ionescu, 39, joined Deloitte as a Manager in 2006. With more than 15 years of professional experience in risk advisory services, Andrei has been leading the firm's Risk Services practice for the past five years. Under his coordination the department grew from 10 to 30 people and has seen an annual 15-20% increase in revenue for the past couple of years.

Andrei is an experienced advisor in risk management and information security. Since joining the firm, he has managed numerous risk services engagements in Romania as well as Bulgaria, Albania and the Middle East covering various industries such as public sector, telecommunication and banking. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics from the Academy of Economic Studies and holds a number of IT and related certifications. Prior to joining Deloitte he worked for major telecom companies.

Vlad Boeriu, 34, joined Deloitte in 2004 as a Tax Consultant and seen a rapid climb from Junior Consultant to Partner. He played a key role in building the firm's Indirect Tax practice together with Pieter Wessel, Senior Tax Partner in Deloitte Romania. Under their strong leadership and supervision Deloitte's Indirect Tax service line grew by more than 40% in the past three years making the 30-strong team one of the leading Indirect Tax practice in the country.

He is experienced in VAT planning and has assisted various companies in VAT compliance and optimization. Vlad has extensive experience in assisting and representing clients during tax audits and tax litigation. Vlad is a certified tax consultant, graduating from the International Business Faculty at the Romanian Economics University. He also holds a Masters in EU Tax Law and followed the courses of an Executive MBA.
