Negoita brothers look for site for Constanta mega-hotel

CONSTANTA Romanian mega-hotel developers Confort Grup, owned by Robert and Ionut Negoita, plans to build a mixed use project at the seaside, in south Constanta.

March 2009 - From the Print Edition

The project will include a four-star Rin Grand Hotel with 1,000 rooms, a spa centre, a shopping mall and a casino. The group is looking now for a 4.5 hectare land plot to develop the complex. “We could start construction works this year if we find a 4.5 ha land plot in south Constanta and if we can get a loan from the bank, because we will need bank financing for 50 per cent of the project,” Ionut Negoita tells The Diplomat.
The company has stopped the development of a shopping mall project on Soseaua Vitan-Barzesti in Bucharest. The group is also waiting to see how the hospitality market evolves before starting works on its 3,000 room Rin Grand Hotel in Pipera, Ilfov county. This hotel will depend on the progress of the Brasov-Bucharest motorway, which passes through Pipera. The company has already opened a 1,500 room hotel in southeast Bucharest [pictured above] and Negoita says the market still needs to “assimilate” these rooms, otherwise the market may be split between the two sites.
