Bosch started production in the new facility opened at Cluj
Bosch factory in the central Romanian county of Cluj recently started the production, the company announced. The opening of the new production facility in Romania has been tied in with Europe Day. In a first stage, Bosch invested EUR 77 million in a new research and production centre in Cluj covering nearly 38,000 sqm.

Following a press conference, Bosch representatives announced that in 2013, the company posted a turnover worth 212 million Euro, with sales up 18 per cent compared to 2012. In 2013, Bosch invested 70 million Euro in Romania, mostly for completion of automotive technology facility at Cluj and expansion of Blaj-based plant.
At the beginning of 2014, Bosch numbered 1700 employees in the four locations in Romania, including the communication center at Timisoara and by yearend, the company stated that it would beat 2400 employees.
At Timisoara, Bosch employs 400 professionals and owns office spaces over 3500 sqm. The facility delivers IT and technical consultancy, accounting, customer relationship and document management services in over 19 languages, according to the company official data.
Bosch started operating in Bucharest in 1994, when it opened a company to distribute electric tools, heating systems, security systems, safety and communications, as well as automotive equipment. In 1999, Bosch opened in Bucharest BSH Electrocasnice. In 2007, Bosch opened in Blaj Bosch Rexroth, a production facility of linear technique, which in 2013 was expanded with a new automotive factory. In 2008, a Bosch communication centre opened in Timisoara.
As of early 2014, Bosch was employing nearly 2,000 staff in Romania. FY 2013 preliminary reports indicate 281,000 Bosch employees worldwide and global sales of EUR 46.4 billion.
