Romanian food chain La Mama makes EUR 5.3 million turnover in 2013

At 15 years since it has established as business on Romanian market, the restaurant chain La Mama and Cafepedia coffee shops owned by Catalin Mahu announced EUR 5.3 million worth turnover in 2013, a six per cent increase over 2012, the company announced.

In Romania, Trotter Restaurant, the mother company for the two Romanian brands operates 10 La Mama restaurants out of which two are located in the seaside resort Mamaia.

La Mama chain employs 400 professionals and due to seasonable operations at the seaside, it reaches 500 employs during summer time.

Last year, La Mama opened the latest restaurant in Mamaia Nord, worth EUR 1 million. For this year, Mahu said that the plans consist in consolidating the business and it plans new openings in 2015.
