Basescu sticks to guns over administrative reorganization

President Traian Basescu has said that he will not abandon the idea of administrative reorganization, which is to be voted on with the elections to be held late this year and implemented gradually by 2016. He said that the current administrative organization of the territory had become a “brake” on the development of modern Romania and that nobody had a regional vision. The President maintains his opinion in spite of strong opposition from political parties and civil society.
