US firms analyze state of market
With American giants Ford, Smithfield, Procter&Gamble and Cargill having already set up base in Romania, companies like ExxonMobil and Chevron could follow suit in the next few years. The Diplomat – Bucharest asked top US companies how they are coping with local operations and what their investment plans here are.

“US direct investment in Romania continues to grow as new investments are announced and existing investments are expanded,” Mark Gitenstein, United States Ambassador to Romania, said recently. According to him, since 2008 American firms have announced USD 1.2 billion in planned future investment in Romania.
