Mr Leo D’Aes has been appointed Ambassador of Belgium to Romania.

Ms Mariana Campeanu has been appointed Minister of Labour, Social Solidarity and Family. Ms Campeanu is the ex-president of the National House of Pensions and is the first woman in the current Government.

Mr Tudor Chiauriu has been appointed the new spokesperson for the National Liberal Party (PNL) ahead of the general elections in November. Mr Chiauriu was Minister of Justice between 2007 and 2008.

Mr Roberto Musneci has been appointed non-executive director of pharma group A&D Pharma. Mr Musneci was previously country manager for GlaxoSmithKline in Romania and co-founder of lobbyists Serban Musneci and Associates.

Mr Martin Koessler has been appointed the new general director of operational leasing company ALD Automotive Romania.

Ms Marie Kovarova is the new CEO and president of insurance company Generali Asigurari, while former boss Mr Tudor Moldovan has moved to head regional development at insurers Generali PPF Holding. Czech-born Ms Kovarova previously worked for McKinsey&Company.

Mr Yoshinobu Higashi is the new Ambassador of Japan to Romania.

Mr Wojciech Zajaczkowski is the new Ambassador of Poland to Romania.

Ms Irmeli Mustonen has been appointed Ambassador of Finland to Romania.

Mr Mario Cospito has officially been appointed Ambassador of Italy to Romania.

Ms Maria Bernard is the new commercial counsellor of the Canadian Embassy to Romania, taking over from Mr Francois Lasalle.

Mr Calin Tatomir is the new general manager of Microsoft Romania, taking over from Mr Silviu Hotaran, who has left to pursue his own enterprises.

Mr Claudiu A Pop has joined the Bucharest office of the US law firm White & Case as counsel. Mr Pop regularly advises in real estate, telecom and energy.

Mr Lachlan Grave is the new director geneal of Kraft Foods Romania.
