Digi Communications to continue its local market growth, expands abroad

Digi Communications (RCS&RDS) has continued to grow in 2018 both locally and on foreign markets where it operates, according to CEO Serghei Bulgac. He said that the two billion Euro worth of investments over the last eight years have contributed to a robust and steady growth of Digi in Romania and outside the country.

"On the local market, on fixed electronic communications services, we recorded significant increases in revenue generating units on both the cable television segment (an advance of more than 200,000 subscribers to 3,234,000 revenue generating units on September 30, 2018 versus 3,030,000 at the end of 2017) and fixed internet (2,459,000 subscribers on September 30, 2018 versus 2,284,000 at the end of 2017)," said Bulgac. "We have had an evolution in line with our business goals so far, and we will continue to grow."

Digi Communications has continued to grow locally, but also is other markets, as mentioned by its CEO.
"On the local market, we have strengthened our leadership position in the fixed internet and cable television segment and Digi Mobil has continued to be the most attractive portability network with a 31 per cent market share ported numbers," Bulgac underlined.

He went on to say that the main strategic objectives for Digi are: maintaining leadership in the local market for cable and fixed-line television services; increasing the market share in Hungary; acceleration of technological advances (both in Romania and Hungary).

On September 30, 2018, Digi Communications announced consolidated group income of 752 million Euro, and adjusted EBITDA was approximately 237 million Euro (cumulative for the first three quarters of the year). The company's goal is to reach the one billion Euro consolidated revenue threshold.
