Craiova retail park rents out 80 per cent with no building permit

CRAIOVA Belgian developer K&S Developments and French retailer Auchan Romania have rented 80 per cent of 90 million Euro shopping centre Electroputere Parc, slated for opening at end-2011, although the project had no building permit by the time we went to press.
A project representative told The Diplomat this would “not be a problem” as the retail park retrofits the industrial building of the former locomotive and transformer factory Electoputere, preserving the facade and elements of the industrial heritage.
“The obtaining of the building permit process is in a very advanced stage,” the representative added. Electroputere Parc has a gross lettable area of 55,000 sqm, 1,900 parking spaces and over 120 stores.
