Sphera Franchise Group opens its first two KFC restaurants of 2026 in Romania and Italy

    Published on

Sphera Franchise Group marks the beginning of the year with the opening of its first two KFC restaurants in 2026: a Drive Thru location in Bucharest and a food court unit in San Donà di Piave, Province of Venice, Italy. The total investment for the two restaurants amounts to approximately EUR 2.1 million, further supporting the Group’s expansion strategy in these markets.

The new Bucharest unit is located within M Park Titan and is part of the Group’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the capital. With this opening, the KFC network now reaches 32 restaurants in Bucharest, nine of which operate in the Drive Thru format, and a total of 111 units nationwide.

“This opening confirms the potential of the Drive Thru format, a strong, multichannel concept that increasingly meets customers’ current needs and allows us to further consolidate our position in the capital. We are pleased to bring the authentic KFC brand experience closer to local communities across various neighborhoods of Bucharest, leveraging our strong urban visibility and the significant expansion potential the city still offers,” said Marian Gogu, General Manager, KFC Romania.

The second opening, in Italy, takes place in the Province of Venice, where Sphera Franchise Group has inaugurated a new food court-format KFC restaurant at Centro Piave Shopping Center, located on Via Iseo 1, San Donà di Piave. The restaurant covers approximately 235 square meters and creates 15 new jobs for the local community.

Following this inauguration, KFC now operates 19 units in Italy under Sphera Franchise Group, further strengthening the brand’s presence on the Italian market.
