Romanians spend most of their money on food and dwelling, study says

Food and dwelling have the highest shares in the Romanians' monthly expenses although there are some differences between generations, according to a research by Golin and iSense Solutions.

2018-04-30 10:33:07

Romanians spend on average 162 Euro on food and 146 Euro on dwelling. The study, which focuses on urban internet users, shows that Baby Boomers (the 55-64 age generation) have an average monthly budget of 523 Euro, Generation X (39-54 years) have 600 Euro, Millennials (24-38) – 501 Euro and Generation Z (18-23 years) – 198 Euro, according to Romania-Insider.

"Millennials are more independent in making shopping decisions but often exceed their monthly budgets. Baby Boomers and Generation Z representatives save the most and Generation X representatives have the highest revenues but also borrow the highest sums. These are only a few of the differences between today's consumers," reads the study.
