UNSAR launched its own financial education platform for the insurance industry

The National Association of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies in Romania (UNSAR) has launched its own online financial insurance education platform, the first such project in the insurance industry in Romania. This project is part of the 2017-2020 strategy, assumed by UNSAR earlier this year, a strategy that focuses on the insurance consumer.

2017-06-12 16:38:19

The www.asiguropedia.ro platform aims to address consumers and potential insurance consumers in Romania to make them understand the benefits and how insurance products work, but also how certain risks can be avoided. UNSAR believes that financial education is essential for the consumer, an increased level of knowledge, enabling him to choose the insurance products that best meet its needs.

"The new platform for financial education is an opportunity for real communication between the industry, the regulator and the consumers," said Adrian Marin, president of UNSAR. "By simply putting together the expertise, expectations and needs of all parties involved in the insurance market, we will be able to achieve our goals. These are not just talks, the relationship with the clients is the basis
of the businesses that the insurers carry out, as well as an open and constructive communication with all the state authorities with attributions in the field. I invite all those involved in the market to use and develop together with UNSAR this new tool."

According to UNSAR representatives, the role of insurance products in the protection of citizens and in preventing the destabilization of the family budget when an unfortunate event happens is not clearly understood by consumers, which is also reflected in the low interest for optional insurance products.
On the contrary, at European level, the optional insurance market far exceeds that of compulsory insurance, this being an indicator of both the level of financial education and the maturity of the insurance market.

UNSAR is a professional association founded in 1994, in accordance with the provisions of law OG 26/2000, regarding the establishment of associations and foundations. The union was the initiative of 13 insurance and reinsurance of companies, and it currently has 17 full members and 5 associate members. The presidency of UNSAR is assumed by a company chosen by the General Assembly to fulfil this role. The president is the representative of the company owning the presidency of UNSAR.
