Number of employees in Bucharest office market to reach 260,000 this year, says DTZ

The number of employees working in A and B office buildings in Bucharest reached 233,000 at the end of 2016, 30,000 more than in 2015, recording the highest level in past three years, according to DTZ.

"Given the deliveries announced for this year and the existing demand in the office market, we estimate that by the end of 2017, the number of employees in modern office buildings in Bucharest will reach about 260,000," said Bogdan Bogatu, senior broker office agency DTZ Echinox.

This year, in Bucharest, the office locations with significant increases in the number of employees will be West, Central and Pipera South. According to DTZ, Pipera South (Dimitrie Pompeiu) – 46,000, Barbu Vacarescu - Floreasca - 41,000 and West - 33,000 are still the three most important office locations in Bucharest in terms of employees.

Compared to 2015, these office locations registered the largest increase in the number of employees, with 32 per cent in Barbu Vacarescu - Floreasca, 23 per cent in West area and 20 per cent in Pipera South.
