Profi opens seven new stores
Profi opens seven more stores in Romania, reaching a total of 511 units at the end of January, a press release shows. 2017-01-27 10:56:30
Three of them were opened in the Loco format (Jegalia, Utvin, Vadul Crisului), two units were designed for the City format (Cluj-Napoca and Giroc), and the last two stores represent the Standard format (Cornesti and Bucharest).
This year, Profi estimates an acceleration of the growth rate, with several store openings at least at the same level as in 2016, both in the urban and the rural areas. New stores inaugurations will be equally divided between the three formats the company operates: Loco, City and Standard.
With 511 stores in all counties and Bucharest, Profi is the supermarket chain with the largest expansion in Romania, according to data from the company. Last year, Profi opened a number of 134 stores. The retailer had 11,506 employees at the end of December 2016.
