Nearly 900 million Euro loss for the Romanian wind energy industry, in 2014 and 2015
Romanian wind energy industry had a loss of four billion RON (nearly 900 million Euro) in 2014 and 2015, according to an EY study, demanded by the Romanian Wind Energy Association.
2016-10-11 14:57:12
Study shows worrying results for the investments in the production of wind power, by far the most relevant investment for the Romanian energy system after 1989, with approximately five billion Euro so far.
Without any legislative changes to support investments, the net loss of wind energy industry in Romania increased last year by 1.9 billion RON (430 million Euro), totalling 900 million Euro in the years 2014 and 2015. Right now, renewable energy sector in Romania is facing a financial deadlock.
"Wind power industry, as well as the entire renewable energy sector, is struggling to survive. Investors continued to accumulate huge losses in 2015 and are unable to repay there loans," said Claudia Brandus, president RWEA.
According to the study, this critical condition of the wind power industry was caused by frequent changes in laws and regulations, with no economic impact analysis.
