In Romania, the outsourcing market is mainly represented by offices Shared Service Centers (SSC), covering the activities of a wide range of outsourcing business processes such as accounting, logistics and procurement , HR , IT, online marketing and call center. Most of these centers deliver projects for multinational companies, for which Romania represents for many years, one of the most attractive markets, through several large cities such as Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Brasov and Iasi.

According to Bogdan Badea, Business Development and Strategic Alliances Director at Smartree, the SSC services advance in Romania, is triggered by a much cheaper work force compared to other European countries, added to some significant qualities of people to perform in this sector: foreign language and foreign cultures versatility skills, education and potential. However, Romanian market labor offer is mainly represented by entry-level professionals, respectively, students and graduates speaking a foreign language and are looking for a job. At this stage, most wanted are the professionals which speak a rarer language, other than English, such as Dutch or Chinese.

According to available market data, local outsourcing sector registered a total value of 1.2 billion Euro last year, this year′s estimate being around of 1.5 billion Euro. Moreover, the total turnover reported by outsourcing centers in Romania recorded an annual growth rate of at least 20 per cent, a pace that can activate challenges in the labor market. "If the market maintains the current pace of development and expansion, it may het to the point of lacking the qualified personnel, a feeling that already started to emerge. By default, wages may increase, in order to attract labor from the competition, which could cause a decrease in profitability. This could lead to migration to other areas where wages are more competitive, "says Bogdan Badea.
