Canadian-based outsourcing company Telus International will increase its headcount in Romania by more than 80 per cent this year, reaching 1,200 team members, from 650 at the end of 2015, Yann Bidan, country director Romania at Telus International, told

"If you want to grow, you need to build up your image, you need to be able to attract the talent pool and seduce it," said Bidan. "We have been working for the past three years in strengthening our image on the market. We have built a culture which stresses the caring for our people, helping them to grow and be successful. (. . .) Each year, we have been measuring the engagement of our people. When we first started doing so, our rate was below 50 per cent, a great disappointment for me. However, thanks to Telus knowledge in terms of HR area, we have implemented best practices within the company and our 2015 survey showed a 72 per cent engagement rate. As of today, we have 1,100 team members, but we will reach 1,200 by the end of the year."
Although exact figures could not be disclosed, Bidan confessed that the company has grown rapidly on the local market in terms of revenues, seeing by more than 100 per cent increase in 2014, 78 per cent rise in 2015 and 70 per cent growth in the first half of 2016, a pace that should be maintained by the end of the year.
